New Sunday School Studies
The Present Word Class has begun a five-week DVD and discussion using Dr. Ray Vander Laan’s “Death and Resurrection of the Messiah.” Meets in person in the John Calvin Hall Activity Room. Newcomers welcome.
This Sunday, the Seekers Class begin their new study for Lent using the DVD and book “The Walk” by Adam Hamilton. Hamilton looks at five different spiritual disciplines for a closer walk with Jesus and how Jesus exercised each of these disciplines on the cross. Contact the church office to receive the Zoom link.
ROOTED Youth Group
ROOTED meets February 28 from 5:15 – 7 p.m. Our “Bring Friendz to ROOTED” contest is going strong.
High School Montreat and The Great Escape-Southwind fees are due Sunday, March 7. Questions? Call Youth Director Mike Beam in the church office.
Lenten Wednesdays at Grace
Church-wide Lenten programs began February 24. Scott Porter is leading a study on Wednesday nights, 6:45-7:30 p.m., online and in person, in Conway Hall, on “Different Ways to Study the Bible” using James as a model. Also, Kristen Stieffel will post “Questions to Ponder” on the church website each week as the church reads and studies the Book of James together. See Devotions under the Ministries tab.
10:45 a.m. Service is Moving to Conway Hall
Beginning Sunday, Mar. 7, the 10:45 a.m. service will move to Conway Hall. This temporary move will enable us to safely accommodate increased attendance for those who are returning after being vaccinated and all who want to worship in person for Lent and Easter. The 8:45 a.m. service will continue in the sanctuary where we record the service for our online worshipers.
Teacher Appreciation Sunday
Our Sunday school teachers and Bible study and small group leaders have worked hard this year to ensure that Christian education continues at the church despite the challenges. The Christian Education Committee will recognize these dedicated volunteers on Sunday, Mar. 14.
Parents, are you in need of a little grace? Bring your 3-year-old thru 5th grade children to Grace Time, Sundays, 8:30-11:00 a.m. in Smith Hall. Contact the office or Sheryl for registration packet. Take this Grace Time to recoup, revive and recharge.
Elementary age children (K-5) are invited to leave the 8:45 a.m. service with Miss Sheryl after the children’s message for a time of hands-on learning about worship.
Book Club meets by Zoom at 7 p.m. on 4th Tuesdays.
The book selection for Tuesday, March 23, is The Paris Architect by Charles Belfoure. During World War II, Lucien Bernard, an architect living in Paris, France, is offered a large fee to design hiding places for Jews being hunted by the Nazis. He desperately needs the money to make a living, although he knows that if caught, he will most likely be killed. Contact Jane Heppner for more information.
Cooking with Grace
Cooking With Grace is a once a month cooking group via Zoom. We will be cooking together again on March 15 at 6 p.m. Anyone can sign up to lead, share recipes or join in the fun learning to make new dishes with friends. Sign up to receive a list of ingredients, steps to prep food in advance and the Zoom link. Contact Carolyn Castagno.

Still Stitchin’ with Grace — Supplies available to pick up for use at home
Meets each Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm on the second floor of John Calvin Memorial Hall. Everyone is welcome to join our group and/or donations to support this mission are greatly appreciated.
Ruth Circle meets on the 2nd Monday (Sept through May) in Conway Reception at 10 am for Bible study and fellowship. All women of the church are invited to join the group at any time as their schedule allows.
Thursday at the Garden – Not currently meeting
Meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at the Olive Garden on East Colonial 6:30 pm. Enjoy dinner and fellowship. No reservation needed.
Health Check – Not currently offered
First and third Sundays of each month following the 10:45 am service: have your blood pressure checked at the table in the rear of the sanctuary.
Food Pantry Sunday
First Sunday of each month food donations are collected for elementary schools. Please bring items suitable for younger children that require little or no cooking.
Pet Pantry Sunday
Second Sunday of each month bags of dog and cat food are college for donation to the Pet Pantry – a program of the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando and Meals on Wheels to help care for the pets of homebound seniors in Orange County. Financial support can be provided by check made payable to Grace Covenant with the memo: Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando.
Five Cents Per Meal
Third Sunday of each month. Donating to 5¢ per Meal is a way for us to help the hungry. Set aside 5 c per meal each time you eat. Bring what you collect over the course of the month to church on the third Sunday and it will be sent along to Second Harvest Food Bank; Society of St. Andrew; Alliance for International Reforestation in Guatemala; and PCUSA missionaries, Dan & Elizabeth Turk in Madagascar, for planting fruit trees.
All classes meet 9:30–10:30 am.
Preschool Class for ages 3 and 4 meets in Smith Hall, Room 1 (downstairs.) Uses the F.R.O.G. curriculum for young learners about God.
Elementary Classes for pre-K through 5th grade meets in Smith Hall, Room 11 (upstairs.) Follows a rotation of Bible stories and hand-on activities.
Youth Classes meet in the Youth Room in Conway Hall. Middle School and High School students meet separately each week to link the teachings in the Word to current events.
Earl Tyson meets online. Studies selected by participants vary. Led by Herschel Hughes and Marian Bauer.
Present Word meets in John Calvin Memorial Hall (upstairs). Studies the PCUSA Present Word curriculum. Led by Kermit Gay and Kristen Stieffel.
Seekers meets online via Zoom and in the Conference Room, John Calvin Memorial Hall (upstairs). Participants select studies. Led by a rotation of members.
