Grace Time

Parents in need of a little grace time can bring children 3-yr-old thru 5th grade to Grace Time on Sunday mornings, 8:30-11 am in Smith Hall.  Registration is required. Take this Grace Time to recoup, revive and recharge.  

Children’s Church – 8:45 Service

Children (K-5) at the 8:45 am service are invited to leave with Miss Sheryl after the Children’s Message for hands-on learning about Worship.

Wednesdays at Grace

The choir hosts on Wednesday, Nov. 18 with a special presentation of a “Presbytery Home Companion”. Join us in the courtyard at 6:45 pm.  Bring a lawn chair for some old-fashioned light-hearted fun and song.

Book Study – Wednesday mornings

Study on hymns, Why and What We Sing, meets by Zoom Wednesday mornings at 10. Repeated in-person on Sunday mornings in Conway Hall between the services. Call the office for Zoom invite.

Chili Cook-Off/Christmas Cookie Bake -Off     

Nov. 22 is our annual chili cook-off/Christmas cookie bake-off. Held after the 10:45 service in the courtyard. Sample amazing chilis and Christmas cookies for a suggested $5 donation to the Youth Ministry. If interest in entering this prized “trophy” contest, contact Mike at or call the church office.

Family Promise     

Grace Covenant’s week to help provide food and temporary shelter for homeless families through Family Promise is coming soon. Nov. 15-21. Call the office to sign up to bring a meal.

Hanging of the Greens     

Help decorate the church, Sun. Nov. 22 immediately following the Chili/Cookie contest.

Online Prayer Meeting

Pastor Karen leads an online prayer time via Zoom on Mondays at 10 a.m. Contact the church office to receive the invite.

Book Club

Book Club meets by Zoom on 4th Tuesdays. The next meeting is Tues., Nov. 24 at 7:00 p.m.  We will discuss Fierce Compassion: The Life of Abolitionist Donaldina Cameron by Katheryn Wong and Kristin Wong. Call Jane Heppner for info and an invite. Books are available to borrow from the church library.

Grace Covenant Book Club will be meeting by Zoom on Tuesday, December 22nd at 7 p.m. In the spirit of Christmas we’ll be discussing “Through the Eyes of a Shepherd” by Kenneth Winter. We’d love for you to join us. For more information, contact Jane Heppner.

Alliance for International Reforestation 

Mission/Outreach welcomes Dr. Anne Hallum, founder of AIR (Alliance for International Reforestation) Guatemala via Zoom on Thursday, Dec. 3 at 7:00 pm.  She will share her story of being called to serve the indigenous population of Guatemala and how AIR has saved mountainsides from mudslides, introduced fuel-efficient stoves, and educated people in preserving their environment.  Email the church office by Tues., Dec. 1 to receive the Zoom invite.

Cooking with Grace

New, once a month, online cooking group. Led by a rotation of cooks via Zoom. First gathering will be Monday, Nov. 16 at 6:00 p.m. Sign up to receive the list of ingredients and then sign in on the 16th to cook and enjoy a meal together.  Contact the church office for registration information.

The Lunch Bunch –Not currently meeting

Meets at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. Contact Shelvey Johnson know if you plan to attend.

Still Stitchin’ with Grace — Supplies available to pick up for use at home

Meets each Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm on the second floor of John Calvin Memorial Hall. Everyone is welcome to join our group and/or donations to support this mission are greatly appreciated.

Ruth Circle 

Ruth Circle meets on the 2nd Monday (Sept through May) in Conway Reception  at 10 am for Bible study and fellowship. All women of the church are invited to join the group at any time as their schedule allows.

Thursday at the Garden – Not currently meeting

Meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at the Olive Garden on East Colonial 6:30 pm.  Enjoy dinner and fellowship. No reservation needed.

Health Check – Not currently offered

First and third Sundays of each month following the 10:45 am service: have your blood pressure checked at the table in the rear of the sanctuary.

Food Pantry Sunday

First Sunday of each month food donations are collected for elementary schools.  Please bring items suitable for younger children that require little or no cooking.

Pet Pantry Sunday

Second Sunday of each month bags of dog and cat food are college for donation to the Pet Pantry – a program of the Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando and Meals on Wheels to help care for the pets of homebound seniors in Orange County. Financial support can be provided by check made payable to Grace Covenant with the memo: Pet Alliance of Greater Orlando.

Five Cents Per Meal

Third Sunday of each month. Donating to 5¢ per Meal is a way for us to help the hungry.  Set aside 5 c per meal each time you eat. Bring what you collect over the course of the month to church on the third Sunday and it will be sent along to Second Harvest Food Bank; Society of St. Andrew; Alliance for International Reforestation in Guatemala; and PCUSA missionaries, Dan & Elizabeth Turk in Madagascar, for planting fruit trees.

Sunday School

All classes meet 9:30–10:30 am.

Preschool Class for ages 3 and 4 meets in Smith Hall, Room 1 (downstairs.)  Uses the F.R.O.G. curriculum for young learners about God.

Elementary Classes for pre-K through 5th grade meets in Smith Hall, Room 11 (upstairs.)  Follows a rotation of Bible stories and hand-on activities.

Youth Classes meet in the Youth Room in Conway Hall. Middle School and High School students meet separately each week to link the teachings in the Word to current events.

Adult Classes

      Earl Tyson meets online. Studies selected by participants vary. Led by Herschel Hughes and Marian Bauer.
     Present Word meets in John Calvin Memorial Hall (upstairs). Studies the PCUSA Present Word curriculum. Led by Kermit Gay and Kristen Stieffel.
     Seekers meets online via Zoom and in the Conference Room, John Calvin Memorial Hall (upstairs). Participants select studies. Led by a rotation of members.

More information available in the Sanctuary Lobby. Sunday School classes offer the love and support of friends and discussion and finding answers to questions of the faith.  Join a class and grow in your faith.
