10:45 a.m. Service in Conway Hall

This temporary move enables us to safely accommodate increased attendance for those who are returning after being vaccinated and all who want to worship in person for Lent and Easter.  The 8:45 a.m. service will continue in the sanctuary where we record the service for our online worshipers. 

New Sunday School Studies

The Present Word Class has begun a five-week DVD and discussion using Dr. Ray Vander Laan’s “Death and Resurrection of the Messiah.” Meets in person in the John Calvin Hall Activity Room. Newcomers welcome.

The Seekers Class is using the DVD and book “The Walk” by Adam Hamilton. Hamilton looks at five different spiritual disciplines for a closer walk with Jesus and how Jesus exercised each of these disciplines on the cross. Meets in person and online. Montreat Youth Conference

Please be in prayer for our students and adult leaders who attending High School Montreat Youth Conference this week.  Pray that Christ is revealed in an unique way to everyone, and for travel mercies on the way home Saturday.

ROOTED Youth Group

ROOTED is off the next two weeks due to Montreat Youth Conference.  We’ll return on June 27! 

Food Drop Volunteers Needed

Volunteers are needed to help Good Samaritan Outreach with a food drop at their location at Elite Preparatory Academy, 1636 W. Oak Ridge Rd. (Same location as last time). Saturday, June 12, 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Contact the church office with your phone number and email to let us know you are coming.

Music Camp — Online Registration Now Open

Music Camp will be June 14-17.  Instruments of the Bible – Singing, orff, crafts and  more. K – 8th grade. Go to the Events tiles on the homepage. Find Music Camp and the Register button.

Children’s Church

Elementary age children (K-5) are invited to leave the 8:45 a.m. service with Miss Sheryl after the children’s message for a time of hands-on learning.

Book Club

Book Club meets by Zoom at 7 p.m. on 4th Tuesdays.

The book selection for June 22 is Harvest of Rubies by Tessa Afshar.  Contact the church office for more information and a Zoom invite. 

Cooking with Grace

Cooking With Grace is a once a month cooking group via Zoom.  We cook together on the third Monday at 6 p.m.  Anyone can sign up to lead, share recipes or join in the fun learning to make new dishes with friends.  Sign up to receive a list of ingredients, steps to prep food in advance and the Zoom link. Contact the church office for the Zoom invite and grocery list.

The Lunch Bunch –Not currently meeting

Meets at 12:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month. 

Still Stitchin’ with Grace — Supplies available to pick up for use at home

Meets each Thursday from 10 am to 2 pm on the second floor of John Calvin Memorial Hall. Everyone is welcome to join our group and/or donations to support this mission are greatly appreciated.

Ruth Circle 

Ruth Circle meets on the 2nd Monday (September through May) in Conway Reception  at 10 am for Bible study and fellowship. All women of the church are invited to join the group at any time as their schedule allows.

Thursday at the Garden – Not currently meeting

Meets on the 4th Thursday of each month at the Olive Garden on East Colonial 6:30 pm.  Enjoy dinner and fellowship. No reservation needed.

Health Check – Not currently offered

First and third Sundays of each month following the 10:45 am service: have your blood pressure checked at the table in the rear of the sanctuary.

Food Pantry Sunday

First Sunday of each month food donations are collected for elementary schools.  Please bring items suitable for younger children that require little or no cooking.

Five Cents Per Meal

Third Sunday of each month. Donating to 5¢ per Meal is a way for us to help the hungry.  Set aside 5 c per meal each time you eat. Bring what you collect over the course of the month to church on the third Sunday and it will be sent along to Second Harvest Food Bank; Society of St. Andrew; Alliance for International Reforestation in Guatemala; and PCUSA missionaries, Dan & Elizabeth Turk in Madagascar, for planting fruit trees.

Sunday School

All classes meet 9:30–10:30 am.

Preschool Class for ages 3 and 4 meets in Smith Hall, Room 1 (downstairs.)  Uses the F.R.O.G. curriculum for young learners about God.

Elementary Classes for pre-K through 5th grade meets in Smith Hall, Room 11 (upstairs.)  Follows a rotation of Bible stories and hand-on activities.

Youth Classes meet in the Youth Room in Conway Hall. Middle School and High School students meet separately each week to link the teachings in the Word to current events.

Adult Classes

      Earl Tyson meets online. Studies selected by participants vary. Led by a rotation of members. 

     Present Word meets in John Calvin Memorial Hall (upstairs). Studies the PCUSA Present Word curriculum. Led by a rotation of members.  

     Seekers meets online via Zoom and in the Conference Room, John Calvin Memorial Hall (upstairs). Participants select studies. Led by a rotation of members.

Sunday School classes offer the love and support of friends and discussion and finding answers to questions of the faith.  Join a class and grow in your faith.
